I am a postdoctoral research fellow at Stanford University, working with Professor Jelena Vuckovic. Before joining Stanford University in January 2017, I obtained my PhD in 2016 from the University of Maryland, College Park, while working with Professor Edo Waks. I obtained my BS in 2011 at Zhejiang University, China, with a specialization in optics.
I conduct both theoretical and experimental research in the areas of quantum information, quantum optics and nanophotonics. The research page describes my past research activities in detail.
I will join the University of Colorado, Boulder as an assistant professor at the Physics Department and an associate fellow at JILA in July 2020. My future group will work on a variety of topics in quantum information and quantum optics. A few research themes in my group include:
- Efficient interface between matter qubits and photons for quantum networking and modular quantum computing;
- Optical quantum computing assisted with quantum emitters and quantum memories;
- Chip-integrated quantum devices based on nanophotonics;
- Spins in semiconductors and their applications in quantum information;
If you are interested in joining my group as a graduate student or postdoc, or if you are interested in discussing potential collaborations, please feel free to email me at shuosun [at] jila.colorado.edu.
